Global warming/Climate change is a scam, and these lawmakers are using it to make us do what they want, to control us in every thing we do and every choice we make.
Also, at least electric cars are a wash as to saving carbon. Electricity must be generated, and the batteries and cars must be created, all of which puts out about as much carbon as just burning gasoline.
They are the tyrants, we are their slaves, they believe.

On a related note, this guy is from SF, and believe me, that's one of the few jurisdictions even in California that would be idiotic enough to tolerate this. Time to split the state of California up. Let SF and LA be city states, where they can engage in Venezuela-ization of their people in peace, and the rest of us can live as the Constitution intends, as free people unburdened by an insane and grasping government.
Split, indeed. Make sure the line runs below Shasta and Oroville dams. Also, encourage the southern half to subsidize electric cars. Let them all come home from work on a 100+ degree summer day, and all plug into the grid. I'm sure that will work out just fine.

DeleteFour new states at least. Keeps the senators at 4 - 4, house districts the same. That might pass politically, as it more or less maintains the status quo.
OR, do a three state split, with coastal California from LA to maybe Mendocino, and call it People's State of Pacifica, and the interior split as described above. that makes a 4 - 2 split of senators, giving the edge to conservatives.
OR, even more evil, do this but split SoCal into two, with San Diego as southernmost California, and the Orange Empire as everything else but LA. That's a likely 6 - 2 senate split.
Basically a state wide Gerrymander to separate the people into groups that generally think alike, and would be happier together and separate from the other.
Given how misgoverned the Democratic People's Republik of Kalifornia has been since 1970 or thereabouts, and given that the state government, with its illegal and un-Constitutional "sanctuary city" laws and "assault weapons" laws has been in a state of rebellion against the United States for 30+ years, better, I think, to withdraw Kaliforniastan's status as a sovereign State altogether.
DeleteGive it a military Governor appointed by the President to rule by decree, no Senators, no Representatives, and no vote in the Electoral College until such time as the state's budget is balanced, all illegal aliens are ejected, public order and safety are restored, the border is properly fortified, and the deeply entrenched culture of lawlessness and treason is rooted out, using whatever blowtorch-and-corkscrew tactics prove necessary. It shouldn't take more than 50-75 years.
Try as many Kali pols as necessary for high treason--and hang any who supported "sanctuary city"/"sanctuary state" laws, as they have violated their oaths to the Constitution and there need to be consequences. Ban the parents, grandparents, spouses, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, first cousins, and second cousins of all current Kali politicians and Democratic party apparatchiks, specifically to include organizers and officers of the public employees' unions, from holding any state or federal office or working for the state or territory in any capacity, to include academic positions at any institution of higher learning that accepts one cent of Federal funding, for the rest of their natural lives.
There. That should fix it. And with the DPRK as a model, we can apply this methodology to Illinois, New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. We can get the old 45-star flags out.
