And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

“Japanese Type A midget submarine beached in eastern Oahu, after it unsuccessfully attempted to enter Pearl Harbor during the 7 December 1941 Japanese attack. The photograph was taken on or shortly after 8 December 1941.”
Yamamoto warned them that they were awakening a sleeping dragon, but they proceeded anyway ... thank goodness our carriers were at sea, and the Jap planes left the fuel depot and drydocks mostly undamaged!
