And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Few years ago my dad got a chance to meet some cousins he'd never met previously (the family's a bit screwy and didn't talk to their relatives for a while). It was on a business trip for work, and he arranged for one cousin to meet him at the car rental place after his flight in. He was the last off the bus (from the airport), and he says that as he got off he could hear every one of his co-workers saying "Oh, you must be X's cousin!". He got one of his co-workers to snap a photo of them standing side by side. You want to talk about identical twins separated at birth.....if his cousin had walked up to me in public I'd have been hard put to tell you he WASN'T my dad!
