And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Not particularly dangerous, especially with a blue bomb (inert) unless the "flaps" don't open. Then it flies formation with you for a LONG way! (And you're in the frag pattern for it the whole way.)
A favored combo in Vietnam was "Snake and Nape." Snake-eye and Napalm. The Snake- eye was the High-Drag fins attache to the rear of the iron bombs. It allowed aircraft to make a low altitude pass over the target, release the package, and clear the frag pattern, so you don't catch any of you own ordinance in the under belly. (makes for a REALLY bad day)
The napalm portion of the mix just made a bigger impression on the enemy.
Flaps? Flaps? Where the hell did you get off calling them flaps? They were just called Hi Drag, that's it, no more no less. Napalm worked well in the early years but was easily compromised so was used less and less as the war wore on.

ReplyDeleteYeah, they don't seem to lose any speed until the flaps deploy. Cool ordnance, no matter what.
