I make my own beer and wine because I enjoy making things. I'm not a hard liquor drinker, but I've always wanted to home distill just because the Feds says that I can't..................................

Distilling alcohol without a permit is illegal.

Distilling WITH a permit would seem to defeat the whole purpose of having your own still.
