The kids and I loaded ourselves into the Dodge and headed for Carson Pass to see what things looked like there.
While sunny at home, in the mountains it became cold (32 degrees was the coldest we saw) and alternated between raining and snowing
Not much of a snow pack, although there was snow on the ground, and more on the higher peaks.
The oldest daughter enjoyed the pure snow on Carson Pass, especially when she tossed it a moment later at her sister.
Hope Valley, with Pickett Peak on the left, Hawkins Peak, with a chapeau of snow, on the right.
Gnarly and windswept trees at Red Lake, during a snow squall.
It was a great Sunday drive with the three kids, and an interestingly rainy and snowy day in an otherwise drought stricken state.
You're a fortunate man and a good father my friend.
