And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Exactly! What you see in the picture is what a cold and tired trapper or hunter would see after a long cold slog, and cold as it is, moments after a fire is started and there is food warming, that cabin truly becomes shelter in the storm.
You know, it probably is. That was my first impression, but who knows? I liked the atmosphere of the photo - the idea of a safe harbor in a hostile world.
Birghid, it's not about the SMELL. That breaks the chi of the moment completely. It's like reading the Bible and opining that Noah's Ark smelled like a massive barn rather than seeing the art of the boat bobbing in the sea with all of the dead wicked people's carcasses bloated and floating around it in the waves.
There is no warmth emanating from the cabin. My natural response would be to make my way inside and build a fire.

DeleteI'm confused by this one... there is no chimney, yet there is a power line... is it a cache?

ReplyDeleteLarry, why are you and I both up at 2:30 in the morning?
DeleteI'm up because I'm insane. I don't know what possible excuse you could have.
DeleteIt may be the same excuse, but i must admit I like the deep hours of the night.
