And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Ranch Dog, by Tim Keller
My uncle in Idaho had a series of these Queensland Heelers, which he called Dingos. The back of the pickup was their natural habitat, and they could all survive an Idaho winter outside, in just a basic doghouse. Smart and hardy.
Mate - that`s a Blue Heeler , colloquially known as a cattle dog .Dingoes are the native dog , beaut too but totally different breed . Come down under & have a look some day .
In the states they call them dingos, or more properly Queensland heelers, if someone is a stickler for distinctions. No matter, they are one of the best breeds ever, which I can attest to having experienced my uncles dogs. I'll be sure to call them Blue Heelers when I'm Down Under.
And I will come down sometime, for sure. In particular, Tasmania is on my bucket list to visit.
Unless you own either the truck or the dog, DO NOT put your hands on that tailgate.
Consider that breed as a gift for services rendered. From what little I know, the first of them returned to the States with US servicemen stationed here during WW2.
Had my share of those bull headed crazy tough cowdogs, will never forget Buckshot and ol Ernie!!!
ReplyDeleteYou want a dog like that by your side.

And THANKS for sending those Blue Heelers. I can't think of a single thing that comes from Australia that isn't kick ass good.
DeleteHeh, heh! Seen that look many a time down here.
