Another Bill Whittle masterpiece that tells way, way too much truth. Try saying any of this out loud in front of any group of people anywhere in the US, and you will make everyone uncomfortable at best and overtly hostile at worst.

But it's truth to power, in the traditional sense.

This thing looks like an arrowhead on wheels.

This is what our alien overlords will be driving.

It's a Citroen.

This dangerous looking oddity is a Koennigsegg Agera.

0 to 62 mph (or as the Euros have it, 100 kph) in 2.9 seconds.

Very much the space age look.

Ferrari 430 Scuderia

Italians know how to build a supercar.

Weird pop cultural fact.

In the 80's, Eric Clapton dated Carla Bruni, who is now the wife of the former president of France, Nicholas Sarkozy.

Looks like the odd couple in this picture.

                                                            Freckles, they are good.
Italians know their supercars.   This is a Lamborghini Diablo, and it is devilishly good looking.
President Nobel Prize puts in a call to Dmitri and Vladimir.... wait, what's wrong with this phone??

President Obama is touted as a man of the people, a leader who has our best interests at heart.  If so, then why is he flying his personal barber out to the White House from Chicago every two weeks, presumably at taxpayer expense?

Really, look at Obama's hair.  The cut is nothing!  It is super simple.  Even Michelle could do it with a hair trimmer from Walmart.  He has no need for this dude from Chicago named Zariff, and he especially doesn't need to bill the taxpayers for this unneeded expense.

But of course, when you are President Zeus - Jehovah - Obama, no expense should be spared, especially if millions of Joe and Jane Blow's all over the country have to pay for it.

I actually admire James "Snakehead" Carville's political savvy, and he did marry Republican hottie Mary Matalin, so he can't be all bad, but this picture is just too funny not to post.  Honestly, it looks like they purposely modeled Gollum off of Snakehead's odd appearance.

Crazy limber and coordinated.  Amazing that a human being can do things such as this.

Manager Frank Robinson/umpire Jim Wolfe staredown.

I stumbled across this on YouTube, and although it is profane, it's also highly entertaining.  Bobby Knight as most of us know was a famous college basketball coach who was never able to control his temper.

In this clip, he cuts loose as only he can, as he lets his team know at half time just exactly what he thinks of their performance on the court.

There must be fifty F bombs in there, so don't play it if that will bother you.

And he didn't like the news media much either.

People are getting a little touchy out in the soon to be bankrupt state of Illinois.

GOP state rep Mike Bost lost his cool when the Democrats at the very last moment re wrote a law reforming pensions after Bost and his fellows on both sides of the aisle had spent enormous time trying to create a fair way to solve the pension problem.

To say the least, he was pissed.

I bet she wonders what all the honking is about.

Watchful aliens guarding their treasure on the ice planet of Hoth?

Or snow encrusted trees in Finnish Lapland?

Either way, quite surrealistic.

The smartest man in the world barges stupidly into another controversy, thoughtlessly insulting our allies the Poles.

"Poles and Polish-Americans expressed outrage today at President Obama’s reference earlier to “a Polish death camp” — as opposed to a Nazi death camp in German-occupied Poland.
“The White House will apologize for this outrageous error,” Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski tweeted.  Sikorski said that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk “will make a statement in the morning. It’s a pity that this important ceremony was upstaged by ignorance and incompetence.”

Ignorance and incompetence.  Those Poles have been watching Ozero's presidency pretty closely, I see.
I can't wait until we can replace this bozo with someone at least minimally competent in November.

Another bullet between the eyes of the proponents of anthropogenic global warming.

"The heaviest polar ice in more than a decade could postpone the start of offshore oil drilling in the Arctic Ocean until the beginning of August, a delay of up to two weeks, Shell Alaska officials said."

So my question is, if it is the fault of people burning fossil fuels that the earth is warming, is it also their fault if the polar sea ice is thicker and more extensive than normal?  Do we get credit for that?  Well, do we?
Mondays, or in this case, Tuesday, can be like that.

I could see this as my everyday driver.

Ultra cool

Cowboy hats, boots, wheat fields....and a tornado.   Looks just like that scene in The Wizard of Oz, but the tornado here doesn't transport everyone to another world.

Only in America would something like that be going on and the wedding just continues, no problem.

Weekend open road.

Gas the car - Let's go!

A bit of something you would not expect.

Vank Cathedral, in Isfahan, Iran.

Odd to find such an thing in radically muslim Iran, but there is a story here.

Vank Cathedral was one of the first churches to be established in the city's Jolfa district by Armenian immigrants settled by Shah Abbas I after the Ottoman War of 1603-1605. The varying fortunes and independence of this suburb across theZayandeh River and its eclectic mix of European missionaries, mercenaries and travelers can be traced almost chronologically in the cathedral's combination of building styles and contrasts in its external and internal architectural treatment.
Too cool not to post.

Land's End, Cornwall

Burning up the internet these days is Isaac's lip dub marriage proposal.  Your feel good moment.

Yosemite this evening after a late season snow storm.

Well, I spent most of the day yesterday watching the 18 year old graduate from high school.  Doesn't seem that long ago she was just a baby ( I know, every parent says that at a graduation, but it's true).

I'm feeling old.

Very old indeed.

Then I told the kids how much college was going to cost, and what GPA I expected them to maintain if the were going to get any money from Dad.

Then I told them how much money I expected them to contribute to their college costs.  I love being a Dad sometimes....

The city of Vallejo, recently bankrupt, has remade itself by ditching  the blue model.

Formerly, 80% of city finances went to pay for employee compensation.  Now, the city's finances are stable, and a new model of management is responsible.

This is a lesson to the big spenders in Sacramento, which we the voters must make them learn.

I've been watching this developing story for a while, but what happened today is a milestone that might herald a new era in space exploration and exploitation.

The private space flight company headed by Elon Musk has launched a resupply rocket to the International space station, and today that resupply module successfully docked at the station.

From the article:

"NASA astronaut Donald Pettit used the space station's 58-foot robot arm to snare the gleaming white Dragon after a few hours of extra checks and maneuvers. The two vessels came together while sailing above Australia.
"Looks like we've got us a dragon by the tail," Pettit announced from 250 miles up once he locked onto Dragon's docking mechanism.
NASA controllers applauded as their counterparts at SpaceX's control center in Hawthorne, Calif. — including Musk — lifted their arms in triumph and jumped out of their seats to exchange high fives. The two control rooms worked together, as equal partners, to pull off the feat."

Misson control in Hawthorne, California!  Maybe in spite of our idiot politicians, we are about to see a new high tech industry blossom in the formerly golden state.

Anyway, this might be it.  It might just be the point that private industry takes over from government in the exploration of the high frontier that is space.   It definitely deserves our close attention..
Check this out!  A floating cabin on Lake Powell in British Columbia, Canada.

I guess it's great as long as it doesn't spring a leak and sink, but you can go swimming and fishing right outside of your front door.

Too cool not to post.

This looks like a vision from some primeval dream time, when proto - humans were migrating across the face of the earth, following the melting glaciers.

Everything goes better with dogs.

Cops, mixing it up again.

I wonder if he sent flowers the next day.

You just can't make this stuff up.

It appears that the bankrupt city of Detroit will turn off half of it's streetlights to save money.

If this was Greece, it would be bad enough, but to do that in Detroit is to invite a festival of violence from the violence prone.  What better way to drive out the few people who still live there.

It is interesting to remember that in the 1950's Detroit was one of the richest cities in the world.
Simply too cool not to post.

Cabin porn.

This one is in Tamworth, New Hampshire.

That place would make a great base for a month of trout fishing.

The cash crunch hits Greece.

The government there has stopped paying pharmacies, and in turn, the pharmacies are charging customers full price for their drugs.

I guess when reality hits, you suddenly discover that you have to pay your own way.

I have to say, that has to smell terrible in there.

Leave.  Leeeeaaaaave right now.

More fun between protesters and police.

I thought my electricity bill had gone up by about 15%.  I wasn't dreaming.

Last week PJM Interconnection, the company that operates the electric grid for 13 states (Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia) held its 2015 capacity auction. These are the first real, market prices that take Obama’s most recent anti-coal regulations into account, and they prove that he is keeping his 2008 campaign promise to make electricity prices “necessarily skyrocket.”
The market-clearing price for new 2015 capacity – almost all natural gas – was $136 per megawatt. That’s eight times higher than the price for 2012, which was just $16 per megawatt. In the mid-Atlantic area covering New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and DC the new price is $167 per megawatt. For the northern Ohio territory served by FirstEnergy, the price is a shocking $357 per megawatt.
Why the massive price increases? Andy Ott from PJM stated the obvious: “Capacity prices were higher than last year’s because of retirements of existing coal-fired generation resulting largely from environmental regulations which go into effect in 2015.” Northern Ohio is suffering from more forced coal-plant retirements than the rest of the region, hence the even higher price.
These are not computer models or projections or estimates. These are the actual prices that electric distributors have agreed to pay for new capacity. The costs will be passed on to consumers at the retail level.

Vietnamese coffee, if you have never had it, is simply one of life's real pleasures.  Since most of us will never go to that beautiful country, here is how to make it right at home.

Try it.

In Janesville Wisconsin, an anonymous flyer lists teacher's salaries and asks parents to request that their children be taught by a non radical teacher next year

The flyer lists the 321 highest paid teachers and directs parents how to check online to see if their kid's teacher signed the recall Scott Walker petition.

The pressure from the grass roots increases on the progressive parasites, and they like it about as much as a tick does when you latch on to it with tweezers and pull it out.
Knuckledragger ought to like this, cause this picture below is what he has at his site right now!  Ha!   Also, that seems like an awfully middle aged cop to be throwing fists.
