And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Schlichter can write. This might be an interesting read.
After America falls, an overlooked trucking manager and student of Rome must become the warlord history demands to defeat the predators and rebuild civilization. From Kurt Schlichter, author of the hugely popular People's Republic series.
A Man of Destiny
In a different time, Vic Kinkaid would have helmed Apollo mission control or helped build Detroit on rolling metal. Instead, Vic is a nondescript middle manager at Samson Trucking, forced to answer to HR Karens and running a failing logistics operation in a crumbling world. He’s a widower who takes solace in reading about the past, particularly his beloved Roman history. Vic figures he’s just about done.
But the world isn’t done with Vic. Shortages and riots intensify as a politically insane Washington stamps down on the American heartland. Then comes Covid-X.
Vic emerges into a fallen world. Institutions are wiped away. The road belongs to predators. And the confused and delusional wait for a rescue that will never come. Now, as mounted raiders sweep across the ruins, sacking towns, taking slaves, and feeding on the remains, Vic reluctantly realizes that he’s the man that history demands. It’s going to take a man with a plan. It will take a man who is willing to do whatever it takes to bring back civilization.
It’s going to take a new American warlord.

In May 1970, the senior class of Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School in Orange, Texas, booked a young, local three-piece band called ZZ Top to play their high school prom. Posing on stage with their gear for the school yearbook—which humorously printed their name as Zee Zee Top—a clean-shaven Billy Gibbons, Frank Beard, and Dusty Hill were just beginning their journey as That Little Ol’ Band from Texas

NASA's space telescope that tracks gamma-ray bursts has experienced an "ongoing attitude control issue" according to the space agency. A separate report from solar tracker website SpaceWeather warns the spacecraft is expected "to fall out of the sky" in the very near term.
"NASA's Swift observatory is about to fall out of the sky. The 1.5-ton spacecraft spent nearly 22 years observing gamma-ray bursts. Now it is expected to reenter Earth's atmosphere within days, creating a fireball that could even be visible in daylight (magnitude -8 to -10)," SpaceWeather wrote on its website.
SpaceWeather continued:
NASA's Space Weather Operational Readiness Development Center predicts reentry on Nov. 3rd at 16:18 UTC +/- 12 hours. The Aerospace Corporation says Nov. 4th at 09:30 UTC +/- 26 hours. Uncontrolled reentries are hard to pin down, and the orbit is decaying fast. Only in the final hours will we know for sure when and where it will re-enter.
NASA tried to save Swift. In July, Katalyst Space launched a robotic spacecraft named LINK to rendezvous with Swift and boost it higher. The mission failed. Meanwhile, solar activity puffed up Earth's upper atmosphere, dragging Swift down faster than expected.
