And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
You could say too many comics too little time with the ginormous collection of comics you could select from back in the era. It is looking back remarkable, lot of artist jobs I'll wager, all by hand no less. They sure entertained us wee little guys, hours and hours per comic.
Last time I wandered into a comic book store (nostalgia I guess), the comic on display was "Thor God of Thunder". With what looked like a woman on the cover with the winged helmet and holding the hammer (what was the hammers name again?). "Who's the broad?" I asked the clerk. "Thor's a woman now" they replied. I left. Mjolnir!
Rawhide Kid was the only Western comic I used to read. I was more into the WWII comics like Sgt. Rock, Jeb Stuart and his Haunted Tank, Sgt. Fury and the Howling Commandos, etc.
Imagine my chagrin when "they" changed Sgt. Fury into a one-eyed black man herding a bunch of wussy "superheroes." Not one of whom could go toe-to-toe with Dum Dum Dugan.
