  1. I couldn't imagine wearing something so uncomfortable. Deck shoes & loafers are more my speed.

  2. The brogue with your kilt.

  3. Have a pair of 30+ yr.old Alden black tassel loafers. Steel shank, have no idea how many times they've been re-soled. At least 4, maybe 5.

  4. Polishing dad's shoes. Part of my allowance. Do kids today even get an allowance?

  5. I wore wingtips for much of my working career. I also wore Bass Weejuns: Penny loafers and tasseled loafers. Now that I am retired, I wear slippers indoors and hiking shoes outdoors.

  9. During my working days it was Johnson and Murphy, Allen Edmonds and Cole Haan. Now, it’s pretty much flip flops daily and Sketchers every now and then. In fact, my foot size increased almost a full size since retirement 9 years ago.

    1. At around age 55, the arch in my foot "settled," and my shoe size increased by one full size. I looked it up and found out that it is a very common occurrence.

  10. #4 Florsheim Wingtips were the fancy shoes I got a half size larger and the wide size as well. I would wear two pair of socks. They are snug now. A business work shoe was an Italian loafer unless I went back in the factory and it was a low-rise Merrell hard toe.

  11. They might LOOK stiff and uncomfortable, but your feet will know true bliss when you wear them.
