If you've ever milked a first calf heifer and then bottle fed her calf, you'll never forget just how good you can feel helping that calf live and get healthy. We had to pull a calf and the heifer was too weak to feed the calf so we milked her into a jar, put the milk into a pop bottle and put a nipple on it and fed the calf four or five times before the heifer could stand steady enough for the calf to nurse. Makes me feel good sixty years later.
