And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Picked up too many to count. One sunny day, close to 100 degrees, I passed a guy, noticed there wasn't a vehicle in sight. Spun across the median, back around & picked him up. He guzzled 3 bottles of water, dripping wet with sweat. His car had died, all he had was his wife to take him to work, 13 miles from home, but he'd have to walk or hitch a ride home.
Against company policy in the service truck, I took him to his doorstep. I think with 11 miles to go, middle of the afternoon, dehydrated & overheated, he couldn't have made it, without a ride. GLAD I was there to help him out.
