  1. Fire seems to spread like it was a liquid gas, seems strange though how it's spreading

  4. Saw something similar when our squadron was doing a naming ceremony during a deployment to Guam several years ago. Maintenance gave us a couple jerry cans of JP-8 that came off the engine drains at shutdown and the boys decided to pour it on the large stack of wood for our bonfire. A suspect idea to begin with, but then the SQ/CC decided to give a too long speech while standing there with a torch in his hand. I was about 3x the distance away and could feel the fumes hit the skin of my legs as they were spreading close to the ground, so I backed away down towards the beach. The SQ/CC finally finished and started walking towards the stack of jet fuel soaked wood when his predicament finally made it through his alcohol induced haze. In one motion he threw the torch at the stack while turning and diving away. The torch covered about a third of the distance in the air when the air exploded. The flames engulfed the lower half of the SQ/CC as he dove away and continued to roll on the ground. Singed the hair off his legs, but that was about it. Lucky.
