And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? This image captures a view from the tail gunner position of an Avro Lancaster, a British heavy bomber from World War II.
This pic was taken in 2014. The Lancaster belonging to Canadian Warplane Heritage was flown to England that summer to join the BBMF's Lancaster. It's the only time both of the airworthy Lancasters in the world flew together. Imagine flying across the North Atlantic in a 70 year old aircraft. Al_in_Ottawa
"Imagine flying across the North Atlantic in a 70 year old aircraft." Our newest B-52 is 64 years old and we're still bombing with them. Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance.
