And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Predicted temp today: 108. I could go for a nice cool rain shower.
We could use some too, badly. Not directly on us--our reservoirs are in good shape, but to the west of us, to put out the fires in Eastern Oregon. We've had smoke-filled skies and horrible air quality every day for a couple of months now, and it's getting pretty old.
81 today here in western ny and mid to low 70's next week
