  1. The day that I arrived in Vietnam (Jan 15, 1968), this is one of the first things that I saw on the Da Nang flight line. It gave me chills then and it still does today.

  2. I was stationed in Kansan in 68. Chuck Yeagers clowns from Texas who flew F-4s. When you’re living in a tent and these fuckers crack the burners, you hear it.

  4. I worked on the manned bombing/gunnery ranges in Gila Bend AFAF, Arizona from 1979 till 1981 and the Phantoms were a regular feature then. When they established radio contact with our range, we would scan the mountains for their tell-tale smoke trails, before we could actually SEE the aircraft. Great memories.
