  3. Oops! When I was freshly divorced and 36 in 1989, loved hiking up Grandfather Mtn., NC. Started at 3,500'. Summit 5,960' or so. On the Eastern Continental Divide, so quick rainstorms happened. Small shelters for campers could keep you dry out.

    You walked through drainage ways most of the time. Those walks cleared my mind. I'm 73, don't live there, and I can't imagine doing that trek anymore. Death, heart attrack.
