And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

I bought another version of this years ago and I'm still using it. Lifetime tool.
I guess 14.25" is overall length. So figure maybe a 10 or 11" handle. Maybe light chops only although it'd make a great hammer. I've not used a short handle maul.
My 'go to' splitting maul is by Estwing: 8 lb Wood Splitting Maul with 36-Inch Fiberglass Handle. Well made and affordable, earned the nickname Babe the Blue Ax.
