  2. Hopefully the tech for suppressing the sonic booms makes its way to commercial aircraft soon. Would love to have some 5-hour flights from LA to Sydney like in cyberpunk literature.

  3. I think this is the YF-12 interceptor prototype. The chine has a chisel edge that starts where the radome ends and the wing mounted pods simulate the weight and drag of the missiles.

    4. We went from having engineers that could do differential equations in their head to graduating seniors where only 30% are proficient in basic math.

  5. The plan was to launch three AIM-47 missiles in quick succession to create a "salvo spread" (think torpedoes) that created a wall of three explosions of 500,000 lbs of TNT each. This would lower the encouragement of Soviet bombers flying over the North Pole to bomb us.
