And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Ancient bronze sword (and some arrowheads). The story it could tell.
This is a rare octagonal bronze sword dating back more than 3,000 years to the late 14th century B.C.. It was discovered in a burial site in Nördlingen, Germany, alongside the remains of a man, woman, and child. (if we're still trusting Wiki)
Might be the soil but also that it's bronze. Could be wrong but I don't think bronze deteriorates much over time in a stabile environment like it would be when buried in the ground.
Looks like a warrior burial. Sword laid between the legs ( only one left ) probably originally with hands crossed on the hilt. Arrow heads probably were in a leather pouch ( long since decomposed ) tied to the waist or they were arrows laid beside him and the wooden shafts have long since rotted away. Buried with his favourite horse ( horses ) adorned with a bronze on leather ( long since decomposed ) bridal collar .Looks to be Asian, possibly Mongol?

ReplyDeletecool
ReplyDeletePretty wicked looking weapon any man would be proud to wield.
ReplyDeleteMost of its Story would consist of "...it is cold, dark, and dirty...".
ReplyDeleteMy daughter the archeologist would tell me that the “arrow heads” are considered projectile points until they are confirmed arrow heads.
ReplyDeleteThose are some damn fine projectile points. Glue on. Same type I use.
DeleteOn the right looks like part of a revolver under an A5 buttstock.
ReplyDeleteCrooked teeth by Pony Bradshaw. Neat weapon.
