And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I've lived in California almost 75 years. Every family member or acquaintance I know that has left has never voted for a Democrat, ever. They all despise Democrats.
I left a deeply Blue State- Maryland. I hated the political climate as soon as I was old enough to understand what politics were. I FINALLY managed to leave and moved to the Deep South. I shook the filthy liberal dirt from my feet and I most CERTAINLY didn’t track that garbage down here with me. It’s God, family, and guns here in Dixie. I plan on keeping it that way. 🇺🇸
Kentucky was in there until they cheated Beshears into office. We did more in Aerospace than Florida did in tourism under republican governor Bevins! Now we are back to being mired in liberal economic stupidity. 36th in business, go dems!
I live in Florida! Its overrun with anyone from everywhere! The Florida population is projected to be 24 million idiots in 2026! The state was over run since the mid 80s! There are a few states that have just a million peeps in the hole state! Yeah, it snows but screw the massive number of idiots! I can always visit my family, but I would rather have them visit me! I miss how it was when I was much younger in the 60s till the 80s, now it's just a rat race!
I lived 40 years in Fort Myers, FL, 1966 - 2006, and remember when it was nice. Over that period the population soared and so did gov't tyranny. (it was 1007 degrees there yesterday) In 2006 I couldn't stand it any more and we moved to rural acreage in the upper mid-west. My only regret is that we didn't move here 20 years sooner.
Just remember that GDP includes government spending too. While most of these states are not as bad as NY, CA, MA, etc. they could all stand to improve themselves with significant cuts to government spending and returning services to the competitive free market (not just transferring the monopoly to friends).
We live in Beaufort, SC (Founded 1711). Our side of Beaufort Co.i s a "mini-Charleston", very Southern. But, Hilton Head is also in the county. Apples & Oranges. HHI is mostly relocated Yankees with horrid traffic. 20 years ago it was OK. Not now.
I don't know about Nevada...while it does have more manufacturing than in the past the casino industry is still the 800# gorilla of the state along with tourism...
If you’re moving to.a red state, leave your politics in the blue state, pls

DeleteFull disclosure: I live in rural NorCal, not LA.
I tend to believe you rep the majority of CA outside the enclaves of the corruptocrats.
DeleteAnd the corrupticans…
DeleteYou assume the politics is the problem. It's not. It's culture. Let me fix that for you, "If you're moving to a southern state, don't, pls."
DeleteAre any of them blue?

I found the Carl Hiaasen books very informative. I'm English, so probably got it all wrong in my head.
Delete1007 degrees. Wow that's hot!
ReplyDeleteLOL, indeed. 107

ReplyDeleteI hear that Arkansas started improving as soon as the Clinton's left.
