And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Been thinking about this one for awhile. My daughter and I were hiking the John Muir Trail when we stopped at Red's Meadow for a little change from trail cuisine. Heard about his death. For some reason it really bothered me. I, of course, didn't know him, but I always liked his show, his enthusiasm. Seemed strangely unfair (yeah, naive I am).
Should've stuck to playing with crocs instead of the marine life.
