And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I live on a lake in northern Wisconsin. Went out on the boat in windy weather and didn’t get a a bite. Came back to my dock and decided to try a few casts. Got a bass on the first cast, go figure.
I thought so too. When my wife taught 2nd grade 40+ years ago one of her kids called one of those an “obstacle conclusion” and we’ve called them that with a smile ever since.
Reminds me of a place near Hartford, WI. The farmer rented wooden rowboats. You arrived early, took oars from the shed, bailed rainwater and off you went. Me, my Dad and my Grandfather. It's gone. They're gone. I will be soon as well. But thanks for the memory. Much appreciated.
