Horsepower

  1. It's a visual pun in French since the car is nicknamed the Deux Cheveaux. French motorists paid a costly yearly tax based on the horsepower of their car so lack of horsepower was a selling point. The original 302cc engine was rated at 2 Cheveaux Vapeureuse ie 2 Horses, Steam so Citroen called it the 2CV.

  2. Deaux chevaux, a "French pun" on the car's nickname. Usually the 1st car owned by young Frenchmen. And lost their virginity in. You had to roll down the windows to open the doors.

  4. I'm at that point in my life where a 2CV is becoming very attractive. But I would also have to buy a beret. Steve_in_Ottawa

    1. Sell them to Frank Zappa's heirs to harvest their dental floss crop in Montana. You'll have to order the cubic zirconium tweezers from Amazon to pick it.

  6. I instantly saw your problem. You only have 2 hp and that radiator is blocking the circulation of the fan.
