And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
my first notice of a Cobra occurred late one night in 1964 while walking home from work. A twisty-turny piece of road connected Rt.50 & Columbia Pike in Arlington, Va. Driver was marching through the gears at full trumpet. First impression truly was a lasting impression.
My first exposure to a Shelby Cobra was also in 1964, when I was in high school and the father of one of my fellow cadets at New Mexico Military Institute showed up for "Parents' Weekend" driving one. WOW!!!
The Ford dealership was only about 4 blocks from my high school. Would go by and just drool at the first two Cobras that came in.(A red 289, about 6,200 dollars and a green 427,about 7,500 dollars) Course that was about 7,000 dollars over my budget. Never got a Cobra, but got a 67 Shelby GT 350 about 40 years ago, which I still have. Bubbarust
the cool jumps from the photo.
