    2. "....in the Corps back in the day"

Back in my day, I was a C-130 pilot stationed at Clark Air Base in the Philippines. Clark hosted a recurring series of exercises called "Cope Thunder"....which were the Pacific version of Red Flag, and the Marines would periodically be involved.

Anyway, as I was taxiing out one day, as I was passing the ramp where all the Cope Thunder planes were parked, I saw a Marine OV-10 with mud splashed on it way up high on that twin rudder. And I tried to imagine how that might have happened.

You just gotta love the Marines.

  8. My late father was a back-seater in the OV-10 during the Vietnam War. He ran the laser for what were our first "smart" bombs.

  10. OV-10A, most likely flown by USAF. Marines flew mostly OV-10D, although they did initially have -A models. USAF retired them in September 1991, and USMC phased theirs out in 1995. I flew them at Sembach AB, Germany and George AFB, CA from 1983-85.
