And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
"I am the angel of death. The time of purification is at hand"
Managed to go to a training session, with the FACS calling in fire from Spooky - its a horrific sound it makes, as its guns fire seemingly out of nowhere....
I watched an AC-130 make a good chunk of Kismayo go away. Heard it circling for 10 minutes or so, then we see a single green tracer go floating up. A big stream of red death went down, just unleashed pure hell.
I witnessed these gunships in Vietnam. Firing up to 6,000 rounds per minute, the bullets made a solid line from the plane to the ground. Frightening even tho it was on my side. The name "Spooky" was apt.
A C130 went directly overhead yesterday (from Atterbury) haulin' ass and the duration I heard it was only about 2-3 seconds. No time at all to get up and run out to see it. Usually they are a little higher and a lot slower. Them unmufflered engines...jeez...
C-130s flying out of Schenectady, NY to Greenland and the Arctic Circle pass over my house as I am in their landing pattern. When they practice "Scud Running" at high speed and tree top level, it's VERY intimidating!

ReplyDeleteWe Marines also called those wonderful and deadly AC-47 gunships "Puff, the magic dragon."
