And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
On a twisting road I pulled out to pass when the truck hood blew open. I let off the gas and looked through the narrow opening between the hood and frame. Not good enough. So I stuck my head out the window only to be looking at myself in the big mirror. So I looked straight down at the asphalt and slowly pulled to the right.
Just ahead was a fairly sharp turn. As it was, I was able to pull into the only wide spot for miles. I pulled a wire seat spring to fasten the hood and was back in business.
My guardian angels all have grey hair and are on rotation.
