  3. Such a distinctive bird and all the discoverer could think was to name it after himself. Imagine achieving noteriety through a bird.

    I think I would name it, Nope Not Me Someone Else lark.

    1. This bird's common name commemorates the Dutch naturalist Coenraad Jacob Temminck.[2] zoologist (1778–1858). So the common name was applied as a celebration of another naturalist.

      This is customary in taxonomic culture. Common names usually do not count much at all ... the genus and species are the important thing.
