A heavy equipment mechanic I worked with, when pushed to get a machine fixed and back to work asap, had the perfect response to the man that signed his paychecks: "Do you want it done right or do you want it tonight?".
Elmo, back in my Navy days in aircraft maintenance, I had a Master Chief remark "It's amazing that the same guy that won't give you the time to do it right will always give you time to do it over."
That shows that in both the private and public sectors there are men calling the shots who, even though they can't do the job, know exactly how long it should take to do it.
Looks like they both locked up at same time. At that speed everything snapped off so fast it didn’t even have time to slow the car down. The skid plate did that.
