  1. Once upon a time. I think we bought it at LL Bean if Freeport. Old Town makes very nice canoes but you have to treat them with care and respect. They are not throwaway plastic coated styrofoam. They are heirlooms that can last for generations.

  2. I adopted a 1913 in decent shape. Always stored indoors. cedar and canvas? 16 ft with sponsons. Someone made have added them. Put it on ebay years ago. it went for about $600 and the guy came up to MA from Virginia to pick it up. Quite a drive

  4. Old Town is just an hour and a half south of me. Great canoes made for beautiful scenery.

  5. 1999 - went in with my paddling buddy and bought a used Discovery 164 from a local river rental fleet for $475. I've replaced a few components (seats, thwarts) over the years but have NOT babied it. It is faded, scarred and possibly ugly but I still use it several times a year and it works as intended! Excellent purchase that had stood the test of time.

  6. I've got a old Otter, won it from a liquor store lottery many years ago. Thought it would be good in the swamp hunting ducks. Boy was I wrong , can't even change your mind in it or you'll be turned over. Been in the rafters since.

  7. I used to live behind the factory, while I was in university in Orono. Yes, I have one - it's hanging up in the garage.

    1. The factory is long gone now, of course.

  8. Caught many a brookie from one, very quiet canoes, don't spook wary trouts as much as say a plastic Coleman.
