And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Ice fishing when I was a kid on days when the temp never got above freezing, the ice was continuously making noise. Sometimes loud booms that almost sounded like gunshots, other times a gentle cracking sound that you could tell, by the change in pitch as it got further away, went all the way down the length of the pond.
Things like this are why I think I live on different world from y'all. Water doesn't exist in its solid form here, except very rarely or very expensively (or both rarely and expensively). I'd really like to hear the sounds she sampled, but that would be quite a trip.

Look up the videos of people skipping rocks across frozen lakes/ponds. Magical sounds.
