All that dust will certainly give away your position

  2. That was why they trained us back in the cold war era to put down a tarp before the Machinegun.

One wonders what that gunner could even SEE through his ??Scope?? after the first round or two.

  4. With hundreds of bullets being fired in your direction, I am not so sure if the dust matters.

    1. Well, it was said in Vietnam that thousands of rounds were fired off by American soldiers per confirmed VC casualties.

It's all fun until you realize the machine gunner is the prime target for return fire and eventually you're out of ammo (as we found out in Afghanistan more than a few dozen times). Mujahideen loved to trigger poorly trained solders and just wait behind the rocks until they stopped. To trigger them again with a single RPG.

    2. And our snipers caused massive panic on the enemy with "one round and one kill."

  5. Thats why the whole squad should empty the bladder before engagement if possible.

  6. Also conceal you from accurate return fire. For a few seconds. Might be all the time you need.
