And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Energy prices are drive by supply and demand. How is adding supply going to make prices go up?
Want to see what is causing your rates to go up look at how much supply has been added to your are in the las 20 years (likely none). Then look at how much demand gas grown in the form of larger population and lately data centers.
More supply is a good thing regardless of the origin of the energy. You AC doesn't care where the electrons came from
Small wind power works. Home wind. Built a tower and run a 2000 watt PMA, rectified to 12vdc, in conjunction with a solar panel array, keeps an 760lb fork truck battery charged. Chose 12 volts cause its more practical, worked out great. Excess voltage diverts, dumps into a hot water pre heat tank, in winter to resister heater coils. Still use main power for the fridge and freezers, which are power hogs, so the monthly service bill runs about $50-$55 monthly. It is a stand alone system, when power goes out we don't lose power, but we do have to rotate running each of the freezers and fridge separately few hours to keep things cold. Sometimes we get so much wind have to switch the brake on, don't need to use it constantly, sometimes no wind for days, reason why solar panels, best both sources. Have an old aircooled VW beetle bug engine used as gasoline powered back up charging if needed, it sips fuel runs at 900 rpm, very quiet set on thick timbers. Weather can be undependable so this way always can produce power. Built it all piece at a time paid cash. Paid itself back getting near twice two more years. Money in the bank. Thats $150 plus a month saved, adds up after time. Can not recommend this enough.
Uneducated people don't like them because they have been told to hate wind power. They are sheeple. They do as they are told, they hate who they are told to hate. Nothing new here
Glad to see that you tried it and know exactly what works and what doesn't
Anon (put ur handle in there big boy) misses the entire point about subsidies... wind power & solar are no where near break-even ventures w/o MAJOR subsidies. Subsidies for the mfgr's, suppliers, & for the purchasers. Biggest scam in the power industry!
Just about all they're really good for.
ReplyDeleteClearing out all the exhaust fumes
DeleteAnd killing birds
ReplyDeleteWanna stop bird killing? Bring your cat indoors. Put uv stickers on your large windows. Stop using insect and weed killers.
DeleteWind turbines don’t kill as many birds as transmission lines do, or tall buildings. Even Audubon says so. Gonna do away with those, too?
nyaaaaaah, save it.
Deleteuseless pieces of crap
ReplyDeleteWorse than useless. Prime reason for the skyrocketing prices of electricity.

Glad to see that I’m not the only one who detests these things.
ReplyDeleteNot as much as the people responsible for them.
DeleteKilling birds, wasting money, leaking oil, disturbing local wildlife, screwing the taxpayers, being an eyesore.......
ReplyDeleteit's a grift and a scam.

Large wind works even better.
