Nearly finished reading his book. After reading and with great disappointment, I came to the same conclusion as you. Doesn't diminish my high opinion of him, reading just provided necessary between the lines insight.

ReplyDeleteI believe he's the only pilot to be an Ace in both the P-51 and P-38.
And, he's in the College Football Hall of Fame.
I have this in the 'to read later' pile. I really need to make some time for it. A relative is briefly mentioned in the book.
