And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
That was a great movie (Walter Pidgeon, Peter Lorre and Joan Fontaine) and TV series (Richard Basehart and David Hedison) that I watched religiously as a kid. I even had a model of the Seaview and Flying Sub. Steve_in_Ottawa
My memories of Seaview are: 1. If she rolled more than three degrees she blew every electrical circuit in the ship. 2. When losing power she hit the same rock every single time.
That was a great scene. Barbara Eden dancing, Frankie Avalon blowing the horn, and just when you think that it couldn't get any better, in walks Floyd the Barber. They just don't make 'em like that anymore.

Kowalski to blame.
DeleteDidn't every other episode have a giant squid?
DeleteKowalski: ABC's version of every red shirt on Star Trek:TOS.
DeleteWasn't a young Barbara Eden in the movie, also? And yes, great movie and series!
ReplyDeleteOpening scene of the movie, Barbara shaking her moneymaker to rock and roll in the mess hall.
