Oh, no. At our house, that won't work at all. That container--porcelain in our case--is already full. Spatulas....those made of a silicone plastic that you use to scrape the sides of a bowl....you'll find 4 regular size and 1 narrow. Then there are the spatulas that you use to flip a pancake...1 wide and 1 narrow in plastic as well as 1 metal. Oh, yeah....we've also got wooden versions of all of the above because of micro-plastics, or something, and don't even try to tell me about the contradictions in that container because I've been down that road and it leads nowhere.

I count myself as fortunate that we don't have a potato masher. The lovely Mrs. uses the 25 pound Kitchenaid mixer which I have to haul out of the cabinet whenever she's preparing mashed potatoes (which are wonderful). Our 4-sided grater lives on a shelf in one of our upper cabinets but you know what? In over 40 years of marriage, we have never--not once--used three of those sides.

    2. Two of the sides, fine to grate cheese over pasta, coarse to make cheesy potatoes.

    3. Oh, its finely grated cheese that you'd like over your pasta? The lovely Mrs. will pull this contraption out of the back of one of our drawers.

The lovely Mrs. once bought much of the equipment from a caterer who was going out of business. She's a wonderful cook and baker and loves to entertain (she's having the ladies over tonight), but wow...we've got multiples of most kitchen tools and gadgets for nearly every task.
