That is a great model! The test of a model to capture the likeness of the original is the "no reference picture" test. Take a picture of the model with no references to other objects or backgrounds that will reveal the true model size or scale and see if the viewer can tell the difference between model or the real thing. The worn paint on the bottom of the MLG wheels give it away: well, that & the cotton smoke. A masterful job! Well done!
My first thought was, that's a hand behind the tailcone/fin, but the detail is amazing. Even more so cuz it's a model. None of mine were that realistic, at least until the firecracker went off.

ReplyDeleteYellow rings on ordnance = live rounds. I think brown rings indicate functional rocket motors. F14 could not trap on carriers with six AIM-54C.
