And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
As a retired Automotive Engineer and Technical Director for my last company, we did think like that. As an aside, each pound of mass removed from the rocket motor means 1 more pound of payload or 20 pounds less of fuel.
I remember months back when the first pictures of the Raptor 3 came out that Tory Bruno, CEO of ULA, said that the depicted engine appeared incomplete. He was expecting something more in complexity akin to the Raptor 2. SpaceX has fired many of those "incomplete" engines.
Who was the Chevy engineer whose motto was the best part is no part? Read while back, they are claiming they are reaching the theoretical physical limit of materials, and producing combustion/thrust, using chemical rocket engines with the latest Raptor. I believe it, because watching the Raptors on Super Heavy and Starship, camera views looking up the engine bells, they are producing almost pure white light, never seen other rocket engines do that, even the monsters on the Space Shuttle had a bluish tint, and those are pretty awesome engines using hydrogen/oxygen.
Got my doubts any Company's trying to compete on SpaceX's level will be close, even Blue Origin, SpaceX is doing something manufacturing and process/procedures wise never seen in the aerospace industry, rather should say, dare to try, and because of that they all will end tits up or bought out, particularly Blue Origin, they are still employing legacy methods manufacturing thinking and engineering style. Positive aspect of this aside from what SpaceX is getting done, its gonna create an entirely new aerospace industry, like nothing before, way before, like way way way different, and thats gonna bleed out into all sorts of industry and manufacturing, most of the legacy stuff is dead it just don't know it yet. And its gonna transform America, same thing as took place when the "industrial revolution" happened. And not many others outside the US will be able to follow or innovate. Big part was the timing of SpaceX's rise. They already have a ten-12 maybe more year lead. And soon as they can finally get the legacy regulatory tyranny buried 6 feet down, we are gonna see shit like we can not dream of. Thing is, there's been something which been suppressing snd killing technology and innovation/invention for a long time, but it is losing IT's tyrannical grip, more so as time passes, but with such things, then IT suddenly is going to lose all control. You watch, another 5 years, maybe, lot of things are gonna be different, like we all never known before, and it be for the better, whole different life and country, got nothing to do with Trump and his Duck Dynasty operatives and cowboys, they are actually the last, of one faction, of the deep state attempting to run shit. Last days, shits gonna get pretty crazy for a spell. Things we can not imagine after that, not bad shit, but really cool awesome stuff. World is changed in ways we are gonna know here not too long.
Wouldn't it be great if car engineers thought like that?
ReplyDeleteNot until you government out of the industry.
