Napalm worked well in the early years but was easily compromised so was used less and less as the war wore on. captcraighttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03466164760552519521noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4533651942397782565.post-73144763800698937562016-10-30T19:33:11.160-07:002016-10-30T19:33:11.160-07:00More here...

Snake-eye and Napalm. The Snake- eye was the High-Drag fins attache to the rear of the iron bombs. It allowed aircraft to make a low altitude pass over the target, release the package, and clear the frag pattern, so you don't catch any of you own ordinance in the under belly. (makes for a REALLY bad day)

The napalm portion of the mix just made a bigger impression on the enemy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4533651942397782565.post-43653612973146909122016-10-30T16:01:17.788-07:002016-10-30T16:01:17.788-07:00Yeah, they don't seem to lose any speed until ...Yeah, they don't seem to lose any speed until the flaps deploy. Then it flies formation with you for a LONG way! (And you're in the frag pattern for it the whole way.)juvathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09096708575138552532noreply@blogger.com
