Dog gets loose on LAX tarmac, wreaks havoc

A runaway pup created a headache on the tarmac at Los Angeles International Airport Thursday afternoon, when she got loose while being loaded onto a plane and needed to be corralled by airport police.
The name of the escape artist dog? Cashmere.
Cashmere was being loaded onto an international flight around 3:30 p.m. when she made her escape, according to Officer Rob Pedregon, a spokesman for the LAX airport police department.
It would seem Cashmere, a German shepherd, was not easy to corral.
"That dog was running all over the place," said Pedregon.
Nine police officers responded to the call, he said. Half an hour later, with the help of a dog catch pole, Cashmere was secured.
All they really had to do was shake a bowl of dry dog food, and I'd bet ol' Cashmere would deliver herself right into their hands.  Use your head, boys.

  1. I'm at air freight offices frequently. They use four zip ties on the carrier doors before the carrier leaves the facility.

  2. It always amazes me when people chase dogs as if they're going to outrun them.
