    1. Years ago sitting in an HU-16E (USCG) during the mag check I realized that I couldn't afford the gas we burned for the check.

  5. Fast, you say, NFW bro. I remember a SOG one time of only 70K heading west. It took all day to get home but the Witchita Bug Smasher was a great bird. The first aircraft and wheeled vehicle to have disc brakes too but you had to do the fuel tank hand ballet or the sounds of silence could be deafening.
