And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Sitka was on my short list of places to move. I picked Arizona because it kept me closer to grandkids, but if not for them, it would have been Sitka. And I would have bought a float plane.
Last time I was in Alaska we followed the coast southeast from Anchorage and were blessed with a blue sky weather system that followed us, too, the whole 10 days. Pretty unusual for that to happen, but it made the trip spectacular.
