The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
There is no better tool to make people angry and inflamed than to use ugly hypocrisy as a wedge with an emotionally charged issue - like racism. They are trying to provoke an angry reaction so they can point it out and exhort condemnation in time for the polls. Real power is in the voting booth, not in violence. Organize; Show no mercy and give no quarter with appeals to reconciliation. Never forget what a dirty tactic looks like.
