Now we know why the Special Counsel hesitated to call Rick Gates to testify against Manafort.

The guy's a terrible witness.

If you have a witness critical to your case, but he has bad baggage that's going to hurt his credibility, it's a time tested technique to bring the bad news out yourself before your opponent does, but lordy!  This guy is dirty up one side and down the other!
