Lightning strikes the wing

  1. No problem except a few cockpit displays flickering unless the plane's dragging a 38,000 ft. ground wire.

  2. Happened to us coming into O'Hare.
Right after it hit, we dropped about 5k.
A nun was across the isle from me knitting and when I looked over those needles were going so fast she could have made a afghan in a hour.
    (before 9/11= needles)

  3. you haven't lived until you've had ball lightning bounce down the aisle while the plane is climbing thru a snow storm and cloud deck north of Montreal.

  4. It’s very common for a strike higher or further forward on the fuselage to exit at those trailing wing tips. Looks like that to me.
