The world's tallest bridge is in southern France.


Millau Viaduct is the tallest bridge in the world. Constructed in three years, the bridge is an engineering and architectural marvel. At its highest point, the bridge soars 1,125 ft. above ground

  1. 3 years to build in a heavily unionized country, and in CA they are over 11 years on just the eastern span.

  2. I'm surprised no eco-nutter has dare to voice their complaint of how it ruins the beautiful French countryside. I'm far from an "eco-nutter" but I think it's a monstrosity. All it's going to accomplish is promoting more traffic. If you build it they will come.

  3. Some network, likely the History Channel, ran a special on its construction. A good watch if you like heroic civil engineering, like I do.
