    1. Definitely, and the ammo-passer is a dead man no matter what. At least the gunner and loader are behind the splinter-shield and mostly protected against small arms fire. AT guns require being sneaky to work.

  5. It was a good gun, but as others have pointed out, the placement in combat would create problems. Not just from a tank taking it out with its bow smg, but the problem of defilade on both sides of the gun means that infantry would envelope it before it was able to take a shot.

  6. very optimistic to have four ready round at hand given the tactical setup. this looks like an excerpt from the book on what not to do.
    how do you think the germans would have set up this defensive position? more than one gun with better concealment from both sides of the road? heavy infantry support with automatic weapons to suppress armor infantry support? infantry with panzerfaust up the road to distract armor? if available have your own armor hidden and ready for counterattack? all the above?
